Cabbage Palya:
Cabbage Palya/stir-fry is a very well liked side dish for south Indians and a simple but delicious fare.Cabbage is a versatile vegetable, you can create zillions of dishes using this.Palya can be served with Rice and Sambhar as a side dish,Rice rotis or Chapatis.


1/2 of big Cabbage
1/4 Cup Frozen Greenpeas
1tbsp Dry coconut


1 tsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Dry Red Chilly
1 tsp Chana dal
1 tsp Urad dal
Curry Leaves
1 garlic minced
1 Onion cubed


1. Heat oil, add seasonings.When onion is reddish,add chopped cabbage,salt and stir fry for few minutes.. Pour in 1/2 cup water, cover with the lid and cook.
2. When done, add peas.Simmer until water is gone and cabbge is crisp tender.
3. Garnish with Cilantro and grated coconut.
